Our Traditional Celtic Crosses all embody the story of the Original Celtic Cross dating back to the 8th century. They all posses the Nimbus Ring, representing all things of Celtic origin, no beginning and no end,
There are many origin stories to Celtic Cross, and a future blog will discuss and examine the history and legends about it, but one of our favourites is the story of how St Patrick was preaching to an unruly flock once and demanding proof of God’s Love. Becoming frustrated with the contemptuous crowd, he removed the cross he was wearing from his neck and through it into the sky, where it stayed suspended, with the sun blazing behind it and declared firmly to the restless many: “do you see God’s Love? Our sun, our warmth, our life source, our vision for a new day.”
